We’re Jon and Kelley Herring, and the inspiration for Wellness Bakeries started close to home. We both enjoy cooking and entertaining, and we love gourmet food and decadent desserts. But we’re also very conscious of our health.

That doesn’t mean we sacrifice. But it does mean that we eat all-natural, whole foods and strictly limit the amount of sugar in our diet. As you can imagine, that has always meant there were very few (if any) desserts we could eat without a moment of guilt.

You see, while the desserts and mixes you find in a health food store might use natural ingredients, they still use SUGAR in one form or another. The mixes at your regular grocery store are often worse... much worse. If they don’t use sugar, they’re filled with harmful artificial sweeteners. Not to mention that these desserts are loaded with white flour, hydrogenated oil (trans fat), chemical preservatives and artificial flavors.

When it came to dessert, there were exceedingly few options made with healthy, all-natural ingredients and no added sugar. So we set out on a mission to create a decadent, delicious and perfectly healthy dessert.

After almost a year and dozens of formulations, we discovered the secrets to make it all work. We call it Chocolate Bliss Cake, and we’ve packaged it as a fool-proof dry mix that you can use to make this world-class healthy dessert in 30 minutes or less.

Every bite is packed with protein, full of fiber and brimming with healthy fats. It’s extremely rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. And because it scores so low on the glycemic index, it is even safe for diabetics. Sweet Synergy and a Passion for Health

Kelley Herring

As a young adult, Kelley learned first hand how the foods we eat have the power to harm… and heal. For nearly two years, she battled a debilitating health condition that went misdiagnosed by multiple doctors. Finding no relief in the hands of “modern medicine”, she turned to her own passion for research and finally learned that her symptoms were related to nutrition – particularly, the sugar, yeast and chemical preservatives in her diet.

Within weeks, she charted a course back to health, with nothing more than simple lifestyle changes and the power of the plate. Already on the educational path to becoming a doctor, this experience led her to re-focus her efforts on nutritional biochemistry and the study of how compounds in food can promote health and protect against disease.

In addition to her background in research and laboratory biochemistry, Kelley has always loved cooking and baking and creating recipes. These two passions led her to serve as Editor in Chief of the Healing Gourmet four-book series published by McGraw Hill. In this capacity, she led a team of 12 doctors, dieticians and chefs from world renowned institutions to create educational tools, cutting-edge meal plans and recipes designed to prevent and treat the most pressing health concerns of our day.

Jon Herring

While his educational and professional background is in finance and marketing, Jon has invested thousands of hours in the study of health and nutrition. He is deeply motivated to provide people with the information and the inspiration to live a long and active life, filled with energy and free from disease.

Jon is an outspoken critic of “pill and procedure” medicine and a vocal proponent for natural health, achieved through an organic, whole foods diet and vigorous exercise.

For several years Jon served as the Health Editor of Early To Rise, the Internet’s most popular health, wealth and success newsletter. He has written hundreds of articles for the publication's 400,000 loyal readers. Jon is also co-author of the book, Your Best Health Under the Sun, which highlights the vast health benefits of moderate sun exposure and vitamin D.

In addition to his passion for health, Jon has a strong interest in business and investing and he is a staunch advocate for honest government and the libertarian values of privacy, freedom, and personal responsibility.
